WITHit Zetta Smartwatch: in review
A very affordable AMOLED option
It used to be that getting a smartwatch was an expensive ordeal. Now, we’re spoiled for options, and we’re even seeing things like AMOLED screens showing up in the affordable options out there. Recently, we’ve been spending some time with one of those, the WITHit Zetta.

WITHit Zetta: what it is
Well, as we said, it’s a newer smartwatch that features a 1.43” AMOLED screen. Why might you want that technology? Well, as this article points out, you can get some pretty wild colors, as well as very crisp blacks, which means you can get some interesting displays, whereas the same, say, dial on an LED screen might look a bit washed out.
Set as it is into the 46mm case (which is made of ABS, so the watch is very light on the wrist), there’s plenty of screen real estate for you to both read the screen, as well as interact with it via touch or swipe.
In terms of health and activity tracking, it does everything you’d expect from a smartwatch today. You’ve got heart rate, blood oxygen, sleep and step tracking, and the ability to record the various metrics while you’re exercising. There’s no GPS on-board, so you’ll need to have your phone’s going if you want to track a walk, hike, or run, but that’s par for the course at the price point that the WITHit Zetta lives at.

Is there anything we’d change?
When you’re dealing with a sub-$50 price tag on a watch like the WITHit Zetta, there’s a lot you’re expecting to have to just live with. And really? There’s not a lot that you’re giving up, if you’re just looking for a basic way to quantify your health metrics throughout the day. There is one nit that we have to pick, and it’s common across a few different WITHit designs.
That would be the crown that many of their models feature. While it can be used as a button, you’re also able to use it to scroll through things, which can be handy, if for whatever reason you can’t use the touch screen (maybe you’ve got gloves one). The one issue is that, when you’re on the main screen, that crown can be used to select a watch dial. And there’s no way to lock in a specific dial. So, you might set your desired dial configuration, head about your day, and look down and see a totally different dial.
We’ve experienced this on a few of their watches now, so it’s a common thing. Does it ruin your day, or your ability to use the watch? No, not really. However, it can become an annoyance, particularly if you’re customizing a screen to your needs. If they could adjust it so you actually needed to go into a deeper level to adjust the screen, that would be a welcome improvement.
Wrapping things up
As with other watches we’ve tested from WITHit, the WITHit Zetta relies on the WITHit app on your phone to sync the data over. In terms of the metrics it captured, it all matched pretty closely to what I’ve seen on my usual daily smartwatch, a Garmin model.
If you want to get the WITHit Zetta for yourself (or someone else), you won’t be able to find it on the WITHit site. So far, the only place we’ve found it is at WalMart, for $42.88. At that price, it’s an inexpensive way for someone to test out a smart watch to track their day, get phone notifications, and the like, as well as picking up the AMOLED display technology. withitgear.com
