Tissot PRX Powermatic 80: new releases!
Would you like yours in titanium or Damascus steel?
While I’m not going to make the case right now that the Tissot PRX led the charge in the current resurgence in integrated bracelet watches, there’s no denying they were early in the movement, and the PRX has been a strong contended for one of the better options out there. And now, we’ve got some new metals getting used to make the Tissot PRX Powermatic 80 even spicier.
Tissot PRX Powermatic 80: new metal?
We’re used to stainless steel showing up in our watches. It’s solid, it’s sturdy, and it protects the watch movement. But what if, you know, you wanted something different? They’ve got your back with these new 38mm models.
Keeping it in steel, there’s a Damascus steel case and dial. Sure, we don’t know exactly how those original swords were made, but we’ve come up with some clever manufacturing processes to mimic the look, done through folding and compression metal, and then relying on etching to highlight the layers.
On the other hand, if you feel that patterned metal is a bit too trippy for your eyes, then there’s a version done up in titanium (including a titanium 3-link bracelet), with their classic waffle dial in either blue or champagne.
The movement
Inside, there’s the Powermatic 80. The headline there is the 80-hour power reserve, partially accomplished by the movement running at 3Hz. So, sure, you’re trading some accuracy (in the lower frequency) for the longer run-time, but that 80-hours is nothing to sneeze at. Wrapping things up
If you want a solid integrated-bracelet watch that follows conventional looks, the Tissot PRX has plenty of existing options. You want to mix it up and make things a lot more interesting, well, then this new trio is just what the doctor ordered. These new versions of the Tissot PRX Powermatic 80 are available right now. The Damascus steel version is commanding $1,175, while the titanium one (in either a blue or champagne dial) is $975. Check out all the newness in the PRX line over at tissotwatches.com
