Earlier this year, Timex released the Intrepid 1995 Reissue, a recreation of their watch from, well, 1995 (we covered it here). That one was faithful to the original, but came in a 46mm case, which might be too big for some wrists (or tastes). Well, Brynn Wallner of Dimepiece thought that was just a bit too big, so she worked with Timex to create something a little more compact, and with a little bit more of a vintage feel.

What’s different about the Timex Intrepid x Dimepiece Edition?
As we mentioned in the intro, the first big change was shrinking that case from 46mm to 36mm. Just goes to show you how much empty space can be in those steel cases, doesn’t it? Along with that, they’ve changed out the dial color, going for a creamy dial rather than a bright white. Finally, they’ve gone with purple accents, which is a signature color for Dimepiece.
Past those changes, it’s still the same Intrepid that you’re familiar with - Indiglo backlight, 100m WR rating, and an offset crown that won’t dig into your wrist. Still have that functional timing bezel, and the strap here is a synthetic rubber strap. All which means that this watch is ready to head to the waters with you this summer.

Wrapping things up
If you’d like to get your own Timex Intrepid x Dimepiece Edition, it just released today. While the 1995 Reissue is hard to find, this one should easier to find (at least at the moment) at the asking price of $239. If you want to pick one up, they’re available through Dimepiece or, of course, Timex.
