As we’ve said before - and undoubtedly will say again in the future - there are a few items that we consider part of our daily carry. Of course there’s a wristwatch, a good pocket knife, and then the cell phone. Another thing that’s critical - especially in the hybrid work-from-home / open concept office setup is a good pair of headphones. Well, there’s another set of cans for you to consider: the Sennheiser HDB 630 Audiophile Headphones.

Sennheiser HDB 630: what they are
Well, they’re a set of over-ear headphones, which - in my book - means you’re already well on the path to some excellent sound, as well as sound-blocking. While these headphones are setup to be wired in (either via USB-C or 3.5mm cable), they actually designed them to be able to deliver wired-level performance over Bluetooth. Here’s how they describe what they’re delivering:
By any measure, the HDB 630 is for the high-performance audio enthusiast who wants it all. Housed in a chassis inherited from the best-selling MOMENTUM 4, the HDB 630 supercharges its acclaimed ergonomics with a customized acoustic system built for focused listening—with or without a cable. The 42 mm dynamic transducer, made at the brand’s state-of-the-art Tullamore production facility in Ireland, is flanked with a series of acoustic treatments designed for purity, not hype. The resulting experience is an effortlessly agile listen with smooth mids, intimate vocals, and speedy dynamics that are true to the vibe that left the mastering studio.
And if you’re wanting to go wireless, you’re not dependent on how your phone, tablet, or laptop can actually transmit. The headphones ship with a USB-C dongle that can bring your device to the latest capabilities, doing it’s best to get high-quality sound to your ears.

How to customize and control it all
These days, the hardware built into the headphones is just one part of the equation. While that will work for going wired into your existing setup, there’s a whole world of customization available to you via associated phone apps. The new HDB 630 is no exception, with the Sennheiser Smart Control Plus app. Using the app, you can customize your EQ presets, as well as a variety of other adjustments, that are actually sent over to the headphones. That means, once you’ve got your settings dialed in how you like it, you’ll have the sound settings you want, no matter what you’ve got the headphones connected to (even if your phone is nowhere to be found). That’s the sort of capability that we like and appreciate. Past that, you can adjust stuff like your active noise cancellation, what codec to use, and even how sensitive the on-head detection is (so it can pause your audio when you pull the headphones down).

How’s the battery life?
All the capability in the world isn’t going to matter if the headphones can’t get you through your day, or even your flight. Well, good news here, as the Sennheiser HDB 630 can easily crush your flight, or your work day. In fact, it can get up to a 60-hour run time on a full charge (depending on your settings). In a crunch before your plane - or that marathon teleconference - takes off? Plug it in for 10 minutes on USB-C, and you can pick up a quick 7-hours worth of charge.
Wrapping things up
There’s a whole lot going on here, and it you’re looking for a solid pair of headphones that can put you in the middle of your music (or audiobook, or podcast) while you’re heads-down in your work, or in the middle of your remote calls, or whatever it is you need to be doing that requires a solid pair of headphones. While the Sennheiser HDB 630 is currently in pre-order mode, you don’t have to wait long. They’re going to be available as of tomorrow - October 21, 2025 - from all the good places you can find Sennheiser products. Want to get a pair, they’re going to be rolling out for $499.95.
