Praesidus celebrates the America with a U.S. Army watch
Military-inspired watches have always occupied a unique corner of the enthusiast world. They prioritize legibility over excess, durability over decoration, and purpose above all else. Few brands have leaned into that heritage as authentically as Praesidus, whose catalog has long celebrated the field watches worn by American servicemen throughout history. Now, the Arizona-based brand has taken that mission one step further.
In partnership with the U.S. Army, Praesidus has unveiled its first officially licensed U.S. Army watch collection ahead of America’s 250th Anniversary. Drawing inspiration from the iconic World War II field watches worn by American servicemen, the collection blends vintage military design with modern reliability while offering an unprecedented level of personalization for active service members and veterans.
Unlike many military-themed releases that simply add a logo to an existing watch, the U.S. Army collection was designed with personalization at its core. As the first fully customizable official U.S. Army watch program, service members can outfit their watches with interchangeable rank keepers that correspond to official Army insignia as they advance throughout their careers. Optional caseback engraving allows owners to commemorate their service with rank, unit insignia, years of service, call signs, or personal messages, transforming the watch into a deeply personal keepsake that can be passed down through generations. Civilian buyers can also participate with patriotic strap keepers in place of military rank insignia.

The lineup is divided into automatic and quartz collections, each designed to capture the simplicity and functionality that have defined military field watches for decades.
The automatic collection consists of two core models offered in multiple variations, including the A-11 Topo Green and A-11 Topo Black. Housed in a 42mm stainless steel case, the watches are powered by the dependable Seiko NH35 automatic movement with a 41-hour power reserve. Matte black or Army green dials feature high-contrast numerals, luminous markers, and yellow accents inspired by military instrumentation, all protected beneath an anti-reflective K1 domed crystal. Each automatic model is paired with a durable canvas strap and offers 100 meters of water resistance.

For buyers seeking a more affordable option, the quartz collection includes models such as the Field Gun Patina and Field Steel White. These feature a more compact 38mm 316L stainless steel case available in silver, gunmetal, or olive gray finishes and are powered by the smooth-sweeping Seiko VH31 quartz movement. Like their automatic counterparts, they include an anti-reflective K1 domed crystal, 100 meters of water resistance, and rugged canvas straps, while maintaining the same clean military aesthetic and excellent legibility.

Across both collections, every watch is assembled and quality-controlled in Praesidus’ Arizona workshop and prominently features the official U.S. Army star and approved typography.
Praesidus has built its reputation by faithfully recreating and reinterpreting military timepieces that tell real stories. This partnership with the U.S. Army feels like a natural extension of that mission. Rather than creating a commemorative watch that simply celebrates military history, the brand has developed a collection that allows individual stories of service to become part of the watch itself.
What I appreciate most is the breadth of customization available throughout the collection. Buyers can choose between automatic and quartz movements, multiple dial and strap combinations, personalized caseback engravings, and, for service members, interchangeable rank sleeves that evolve alongside their military careers. The result feels less like a single watch release and more like a thoughtfully developed collection designed to appeal to a broad audience. Whether you’re an active-duty soldier, a veteran, a military family member, or simply someone who appreciates the heritage of the American field watch, there’s a configuration that feels uniquely personal.
With automatic models starting at $335 and quartz references beginning at $235, the collection remains accessible while delivering meaningful customization, dependable specifications, and authentic military heritage. As America approaches its 250th Anniversary, the official U.S. Army collection stands as both a capable everyday field watch and a lasting tribute to the generations of men and women who have served.
