We’ve written about a number of watches from Nomadic, and through a few different review loaners we’ve had in, I’ve really come to enjoy their watch designs (especially their font that shows up on the dial). To-date, all of them have been three-hander automatics. Today marks an expansion of what complications they offer with the Nomadic Céad 126.
Nomadic Céad 126: what it is
As you can see from the photos, the Nomadic Céad 126 is a tri-compax chronograph. In this case, it’s powered by a manually-wound mechanical movement, the Sellita SW500-M-a, which also brings a day and date complication to the party.
The new movement required a brand new case. In terms of diameter, it’s a wearable 40mm, and it’s coming in at 14.3mm thick. As compared to a regular manually-wound movement, that seems a bit tall, but there’s a lot that needs to be packaged in there to allow the chronograph complication to work. So, it’s what we’d expect for a watch like this.
Racing good looks
It makes sense that they’d lean into racing heritage with the Nomadic Céad 126, given that chronographs were originally made to time races (first horses, and eventually, cars). This takes the form of the rally leather strap (which tapers from 20mm to 18mm at the buckle), as well as the tachymeter scale around the dial. That scale also has an under-the-radar nod to Back to the Future, which 88 (the speed the DeLorean needed to hit) is showcased on the scale, rather than the normally-expected 90.
Wrapping things up
As you can see from the photos, there are three versions of the Nomadic Céad 126 that will be on offer - an emerald dial, a panda dial, or an all-black version. When they go on sale in a week (October 23, 2025) each version will command £2450 (approx $3,300, though your tariff mileage may vary). Check it all out at nomadic-watches.com
