Mr. Jones Watches has long been creating artistically-driven watch designs, with art that can just be whimsical, or can offer up a commentary on the world. Their latest, the Mr. Jones Watches Feline Fine, serves up commentary on the world, as well as some humorous encouragement to keep going.
Mr. Jones Watches Feline Fine: what it is
As you can see, you’ve got a cat wrapped up in a blanket, with a flaming bottle (the hour hand) and a lit lighter (the minute hand) rounding out the aesthetic. Then, there’s the motto. For those times when everything is coming up Milhouse, you’ve got the ‘Everything is Fine’. For all the other times, well, you’ve got a different F-word taking up residence on the dial.
What the brand says about the design
Feline Fine is a celebration of the messy and chaotic parts of life. It features a sunglasses-wearing, cigarette-smoking cat flanked by a lighter and a Molotov cocktail.
As the seconds tick by, two opposing mantras are revealed: ‘Everything is fine’ and ‘Everything is fucked’.
Designed by British illustrator Eleanor Dalzell, Feline Fine explores the fine line between optimism and self-sabotage and acts as a reminder that it’s okay to feel ‘fine’, ‘fucked’ or in between.
To read the time, the aflame bottle marks the hour, and the flickering lighter shows the minutes.
Eleanor said: “This watch was born out of love for blending humour with existential honesty.
