Mondaine releases the Doppio Collection
Mondaine, the Swiss watchmaker many of us associate with their distinctive clocks in Swiss rail stations (and the ever-popular Classic Collection line based on those clocks), is back this month with a new offering.
Mondaine has added pops of color to the lineup with the newest additions to its Doppio Collection. In their press materials, Mondaine explains that the Doppio Bauhaus Inspired is “a new series that explores the relationship between colour, geometry, and time through the lens of modernist design.”
Mondaine launched its new Doppio Collection in July 2025 as a riff on the Classic Collection. The Classic Swiss Railways-inspired design has always been consistent: the red lollipop second hand and the bold baton hands and indices. With last year’s introduction of the Doppio Collection, the hands and hour markers became thin and double-lined. The hour markers were interspersed with Arabic numerals. The lollipop second hand converted to a double-lined oval. And the traditionally flat dial was made concave and topped with a double-domed sapphire crystal.

With this month’s additions to the Doppio line, Mondaine has kept in place many of those new form factors, but opened the Pantone book. It now adds experiments with color to its previous experiments with form. Roy G. Biv would appreciate the result as colors chase each other around the dial, giving you something new to appreciate with each passing hour. The caseback has a nice geometric, Mondrian touch to it. The combination ensures that whether you’re looking at the front or back of the watch, it will always be interesting.
If you already own a Classic Collection watch–or have been holding off because it felt a bit too safe for you–this may be the watch to get you into the Mondaine family. Do keep in mind, though, that what is gained in “fun” has created some sacrifices in legibility.
In terms of specs the watch is offered in a no-date 33mm in silver and a 41mm in black with date function. The case and accompanying mesh bracelet of both models are 316L stainless steel. While the primary Doppio line has both quartz and solar options, these new models are currently only available with Ronda quartz movements. Each model sports a double domed sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating.
Here’s to hoping they expand this line with more case size options, as Mondaine does with its classic line.
