Marathon just updated their 41mm Navigator
New materials make the case
In some regards these new releases are going to look familiar, particularly if you’re familiar with the 41mm Navigator line (which comes in either date or no-date versions). However, with some new materials in the mix, these two new models should be among the lightest Navigators from the brand.

What’s new with these watches?
Here, it’s all about the materials, as these are following the standard-issue design. First and foremost, this is not a metal case. While other versions have proudly used steel (which is handy for protecting the movement), this case has some different materials. First off, there’s a bio-based plastic, which we have been seeing other brands used to great effect; they’re calling this their CeraShell.
They’re also then making use of ceramic powder to help keep things legible, alongside the white numerals. Topping the case we’ve got an aluminum bezel keeping on timing duties, and of course you’ve got tritium on the dial and handset to ensure you can read the time at night, which we suppose takes us into what’s unchanged.
What’s the same?
Obviously, the tritium is the same, as is the overall design specs of the watch. The Navigator spec is tried and true, and why change what works? Inside the new lighter case you’ve still got the ETA HeavyDrive quartz movement, which is specifically designed to make the movement more resistant to shock. The case features removable spring bars, through which a black nylon strap is fixed to the case.
Wrapping things up
These new 41mm Marathon Navigator designs (recall, you can opt for a date or no-date version) have just launched today, and are available for $590 (for the NAV-D) or $550 (for the no-date NAV), making these a very affordable way to get tritium on your wrist.
