LUMIX Nano Ti: now funding
A titanium EDC flashlight with replaceable batteries
We’ve said it before, and we’ll say it again - having a flashlight with you, daily, may feel like an extravagance - or even a hassle. Sure, you could use the flash on your phone in a pinch, but a dedicate light can make things better. However, some just feel too big to always have with you. That is, until you run across something like the LUMIX Nano Ti.
LUMIX Nano Ti: what it is
This is about one of the smallest EDC flashlights that you’re going to find. It’s small enough to disappear on a key chain, but tough enough (via it’s titanium shell) to stand up to the abuse of living on a keychain, or being otherwise shoved in a pocket, every day.
What really appeals to me about this particular flashlight is the battery system. Rather than a rechargeable cell that is going to stop charging at some point down the line, they’re relying on a trio of standard button cells (AG3/LR41). This means, sure, you’re not going to be able to recharge it on the go. But you’re also not worried about having a small titanium paperweight when the cell gives up, and you can instead just pop some new batteries in it.
They’re also using a different LED setup that I’ve not seen before, the Luminus SST-12. From the campaign page, it seems like this is supposed to give a good balance of light throw, brightness, and heat production. At an estimated 100 lumens of output, they’re suggesting the triple button cells can power this flash for up to 6.5 hours. Using it for a few minutes here and there through the week means it should last a good long time between cell replacements.

Wrapping things up
The LUMIX Nano Ti is currently funding now, with earlybird pricing coming in at just about $25, which feels reasonable to try out a new titanium flashlight. The campaign is fully funded, and it’s running through March 10th. Also of note, this is the brand’s third campaign (we had written about their fan previously), so they’ve got a track record of delivering. If you back the flashlight, they’re figuring to ship in June, so it’ll just be a few months wait.
