Luminox releases a new field watch for high Adventure
Luminox has introduced the new Adventure Watch, a $795 field watch that takes its design cues from the expedition watches carried by explorers decades ago, while keeping the rugged construction and constant visibility that have defined the Swiss brand for years.
The new model pairs a 43mm stainless steel case with an IP Antique finish that gives the watch the appearance of a tool that has already seen years of use. The matching bezel and clasp continue the vintage look, while buyers can choose between black or brown leather straps that should develop their own character over time.
Inside is a Swiss-made Ronda 515 quartz movement protected by an anti-reflective sapphire crystal. The watch is water resistant to 200 metres and features a screw-down crown and unidirectional rotating bezel, making it suitable for outdoor use as well as diving.
As with every Luminox model, visibility is one of the main attractions. The dial uses the company’s Luminox Light Technology, which provides constant illumination for up to 25 years without requiring external light or battery-powered charging. That makes the watch easy to read in complete darkness, a feature that continues to appeal to military personnel, emergency responders and outdoor enthusiasts.
Rather than producing a direct reissue of a historical design, Luminox has blended vintage styling with modern materials. The distressed finish and leather strap recall field watches from the middle of the twentieth century, while the sapphire crystal, 20 ATM water resistance and robust stainless steel construction bring the watch firmly into the present.
The Adventure Watch joins Luminox’s growing collection of outdoor-focused timepieces and is aimed at hikers, travellers, campers and anyone who prefers the look of a traditional field watch without giving up modern durability.
