Luminox releases a fixed bezel watch for Iceland's Search and Rescue team
The ICE-SAR 1080 is a quartz powerhouse with rugged good looks.
Luminox has released a new watch for people who live and work in the world’s harshest conditions. The ICE-SAR 1080 Series honors Iceland’s Search and Rescue team, a volunteer force that operates in an environment defined by cold, darkness, and danger.
The 1080 keeps the design language that’s made Luminox a mainstay for military and rescue units, but with a few key updates. It uses a 45mm CARBONOX case, which makes it strong and light. The sapphire crystal has an anti-reflective coating, and the water resistance holds to 200 meters. The Swiss quartz RONDA movement inside should take anything you throw at it.
Night visibility is where this watch stands out. The dial holds fifteen of Luminox’s Light Technology tubes that glow constantly for up to twenty-five years, along with a Super-LumiNova SAR symbol that charges in daylight and shines in darkness. Iceland’s winters can have less than five hours of daylight, so this feature is not just decorative — it’s functional.
