Funding Now: Edrin Carabiner Multi-tool
Keep your keys handy and get stuff done
There’s no denying that EDC (everyday carry) tools are a big category over on the crowdfunding platforms these days. When they also include a blade, it seems that many of them have gone to replaceable scalpel-style, which just don’t appeal to me. Every now and again, though, you have something with a more traditional blade, like the Edrin.

Edrin: what it is
At first glance, the Edrin looks like a seriously overbuilt carabiner. And, in a sense, it is, complete with being made of titanium and having slots for glow (or tritium) tubes. What seems to have gone on with the design process is that they actually thought about what people want to use their EDC tools for on a regular basis.
Heading out the door each day, you’re probably grabbing your phone, wallet, keys, and likely a pocket knife. With the Edrin, you’re keeping your keys organized, and you’ve got a small (locking) steel blade built in, perfect for cutting string (or packages), or even scraping the gunk off of something.
A
fter that, they’ve included a magnetic bit driver capability, which feels like a gimmick that traps many EDC campaigns. Fortunately, after that, they went back and designed in a hook that can be used as a bottle opener or nail puller, or an emergency glass breaker, if need be.
Wrapping things up
As the Edrin is on Kickstarter, you know you’re able to order at a discount. While the MSRP for this titanium multi-tool is set for $109, you can order yours up for $69 (with things like the tritium or glow tubs as add-ons; see below). The campaign closes out at the end of the month (on February 28, 2026), and it is fully funded. This is the first campaign from Mr. Gadget, so, as always with these, caveat emptor.
