Doxa’s New SUB 750T Celebrates Clive Cussler With a 94-Piece Nod to Adventure
If you’ve got a soft spot for dive watches, classic adventure fiction, or both, this one’s for you.
Today Doxa launched the limited-edition SUB 750T Clive Cussler, a tribute to the late novelist and explorer whose work helped put the brand on the global map. The release is timed to what would have been Cussler’s 94th birthday — and also marks 20 years since Sahara hit the big screen, with Matthew McConaughey’s Dirk Pitt flashing a bright orange Doxa on his wrist.
This is Doxa’s third tribute to Cussler, and it’s a clean, thoughtful release. Here’s what you need to know:
The new SUB 750T sports a slimmed-down 45mm case, now under 12mm thick. That’s a big win for anyone who liked the boldness of the SUB but wanted a more ergonomic fit. The orange dial is classic Doxa — instantly recognizable and still one of the most legible dive watch colors out there. There’s a NUMA logo at 7:30, a quiet nod to the underwater agency Cussler founded in real life.
The date window at 3 has a clever detail too: the numbers 7, 15, and 31 are highlighted in orange. July 15 marks Cussler’s birthday and the release date of the watch, and 31? That's Cussler’s birth year — 1931.

Legibility is handled by Super-LumiNova, as you’d expect, and the overall aesthetic hits the sweet spot between vintage tool watch and modern collector piece. Only 94 pieces are being made — one for each year since Cussler’s birth — and the edition is being released in collaboration with the Cussler family.
Price is set at $2,990, and it’s available now at Doxa retailers and through their site.
This feels like one of those rare tribute editions that actually gets it right — not overdone, not packed with gimmicks, and tied closely to both the person and the legacy it’s honoring. If you’re a Doxa fan, a Cussler reader, or just someone who appreciates a story baked into the caseback, this one’s worth a look.
