While I find a lot to like about a watch that can function across a wide variety of situations (it drastically simplifies packing), there’s a lot to be said about having something that feels ready to go for those more formal occasions. The latest version of the Citizen Tsuyosa, called the “Time Slip”, feels like just such a watch.
Citizen Tsuyosa "Time Slip": what it is
With the Tsuyosa lineup, we’ve seen Citizen create a look that fits the current lugless / integrated bracelet trend, while giving it wild pops of color across the different versions. It’s a three-hander powered by the automatic 8210 movement that is widely used, so reliability (and serviceability down the road) should not be a problem. As with all of the line, you’ve got a magnifier over the date window, making reading out the date a little easier on tired eyes.
What makes this one different
As with other new releases for the Tsuyosa, this one is all about the dial. The Citizen Tsuyosa "Time Slip" brings a black gradient dial to your wrist, one that also has a pebbled texture to it. To further cement the dress aspirations of the watch, they’ve put gold tone for the chapter ring markers, and also used gold tones for the handset. Personally, I tend to stay away from gold tone watches, but this has just the right amount of that classic black-and-gold style without overwhelming you. We also appreciate the fact that the bracelet has stayed fully silver-tone. It could be tempting to go two-tone here, but again, that would feel just a bit too much.
Wrapping things up
Now, for the best part. If you want to add the Citizen Tsuyosa "Time Slip" to your formal outings this summer, you can do it for just $495. Oh, and we should note - that 37mm case is going to fit on a wide range of wrists, so wear it with confidence. And, if you don’t like this color dial, they’ve got others, with pricing ranging (on sale) from $380 - $475. Check it out, and order yours, over at citizenwatch.com
