One of the very first Christopher Ward watches I had on my wrist was a C60 Trident, and I immediately liked the watch. Since then, there have been other iterations, and I’ve had other favorites, but the Trident has a special spot. Then came the Christopher Ward C60 Trident Lumière, which drastically upped the lume game for the brand.

Christopher Ward C60 Trident Lumière: what it is
The Christopher Ward C60 Trident Lumière takes the established C60 Trident recipe, and changes some key things up. First up, gone is the stainless steel, replaced by titanium, for both the case and the bracelet. So, we’re already a little bit lighter, and still just as tough. Then you get to the measurements.
41mm? Ok, that’s a good, wearable size for dive watch. For one that carries a 300m WR rating, we’re used to something fairly thick, usually around (or above) 15mm. Well, this watch? It’s actually under 12mm thick. This is the sort of innovation that I like to see. Give us a watch that has all the specs of what preceded it, but make it more wearable.
What about the movement?
Back when I reviewed that first Trident, the focus from Christopher Ward was all about affordability. Solid designs, yes, but to a more-attainable price point. These days, we’ll see that the brand has a few models that hit luxury price points, but most of the collection has made the shift to focusing on quality components, rather than designing to a price point.
So, that means we can get some rather nice movements. In the case of this watch, that means it’s the Sellita SW300-1 COSC. For those not aware, COSC is a non-profit that certifies watch movements as chronometer grade. For those of us wearing the watch, that means you’re going to be getting a very accurate movement. In this case, it’s rated to -4/+6 sec per day. The movement runs at 4Hz, and offers up a 56 hour power reserve.

And the lume?
While a thinner, lighter watch is certainly great, with the Christopher Ward C60 Trident Lumière, the real story is the lume they used on the watch. The indices, handset, and even the Christopher Ward logo are made of Globolight. Previously, I’ve only seen this on watches from Moser, which means we’re seeing this most excellent material coming down to more affordable watches.
Globolight is a ceramic material, one that is impregnated with the luminous material. So, rather than relying on multiple layers of luminous paint to get a strong, long-lasting glow, we’ve got a solid chunk of material absorbing photons, and then emitting them back out. It’s an absolute treat to see in a darkened room, and the 3D indices look absolutely stunning, day or night.

Wrapping things up
There is one more trick hiding on the Christopher Ward C60 Trident Lumière, and it’s in the clasp of the titanium bracelet. It has a push-button micro-adjustment that allows you to expand the bracelet another 6mm. Sure, that’s not a diving extension, but it’s definitely enough to give you some wiggle room throughout the day, or even fine tune the fit after removing links. It’s worth noting - it’s push to make any adjustment. So it’s not like it’ll shrink back up on you by accident.
If you want to get a Christopher Ward C60 Trident Lumière for yourself, they’re currently taking pre-orders, with delivery anticipated for July 2025. There are four dial colors (blue, black, yellow, or orange). The versions on the titanium bracelet will run you $2,390, while the LE version (yellow dial, luminous rubber strap) will be $2,015.
