We’ve reviewed some in-ear monitors from Campfire Audio in the past, and came away impressed with what they’re offering. They also have DAC (digital-to-analog converters) for our modern digital world, and now their latest creations want to help keep you organized while you’re out and about, listening to your tunes on your phone.
Campfire Audio DAC backpack
Simply put, this is an ingenious, $59 solution of how to carry your DAC with you, keep things organized, and not get your cables all tangled up. It’s a small leather square that attaches to your modern phone using the magnetic connection (and, presumably, not interfering with the audio). On that is an elastic loop that can snugly hold your DAC in place.
Along with that, they’re also including a USB-C to USB-C cable that has angled connectors, to eliminate the bulk of carry things, as well as helping reduce strain that might be introduced on straight connectors.
Campfire Audio Time Link IEM Cable
If you’re picking up that DAC backpack and want a new set of cables for your IEMs (or just need new cables), they’ve got you covered with their new Time Link IEM Cable ($299). The core of this system is the braided cable with 6 conductors (3 copper, 3 silver-plated copper) that can hook into your IEMs at one end. The other end, that’s where the real magic happens.
You see, they’ve got swappable connectors on there, depending on what you’re plugging into. If you’re hooking into a portable DAC, it’s got a USB-C connection you can twist on. Listening to at at-home DAC instead? Twist that off, and put on the 44mm balanced connector, and listen away. Or, if you’re listening to something that has the more universal 3.5mm connection, well, this cable can handle that as well.
Wrapping things up
Whatever you’re looking for with your portable audio, the crew over at Campfire Audio have you covered. And with stuff like that DAC backpack, they’re showing they’re looking for ways to not just make your music sound better, but also how to make it easier to take that hardware with you and use it.
