When it comes to making garlic bread at home, odds are you’re getting that slab of Texas Garlic Toast from the freezer at the store, or making your own at home with whatever bread you have around, some butter, and minced garlic. Well, now it seems that Brala’s Best is coming up with another option for us at-home garlic bread enjoyers.
Brala's Best Garlic Spread: what it is
Frankly, this is the sort of thing that I’d expect to show up at Trader Joe’s - totally unexpected, and bringing quality ingredients together to make something fun at home. While they don’t list out the ingredients on the Kickstarter, they do state that fresh garlic is the first ingredient, and that they’re using sunflower oil (rather than canola oil, like they originally used). Somehow, they’ve also figured out how to make this shelf-stable, not requiring refrigeration.
To use this spread, you just spread it out on the bread of your choice (be it baguette, Texas Toast, a bagel, or whatever you have handy), pop it in the oven at 375°F until the spread is golden brown, and enjoy.
Why we like it
Well, what’s not to like? Fresh-baked garlic bread, basically on demand, in the comfort of your home? Sounds like a great idea to me. Past that, they do seem committed to using quality ingredients, and are even working to get GMO-free certification for their spreads. In other words, they don’t just want to make a garlic spread that tastes good, but one that is actually not harmful for you to be consuming.
Wrapping things up
Currently, the campaign for Brala's Best Garlic Spread is at about 50% funded, with the campaign wrapping up on August 12, 2025. If you’d like to help bring this delicious-sounding product to life, you’ve got a few different ways:
$20: gets you in “the club” where you’ll get some stickers, and a new garlic bread recipe each month
$27: First Taste - get in on the first shipment of their original flavor spread
$43: Variety 3-pack - get their first 3 flavors shipped to you, as well as some stickers
There are other 3-packs (including First Taste options), and even a 1-year supply subscription. There’s also some other clever swag, including tea towels, a cutting board, and an apron. If you back the project, it looks like things are planned to star shipping in August, so you won’t have long to wait to make your garlic bread. Check out the campaign over at kickstarter.com
