I’ve said it before, and I’ll undoubtedly say it again when I write about another tritium-equipped watch: I. Like. Tritium tubes. It’s a subtle glow, but there’s no denying how fun the varied colors can be. There are a few different brands out there creating tritium watches, and if you’re looking for something that won’t look out of place in a formal setting, something like the Ball Watch Roadmaster Perseverer is a solid option.
Ball Watch Roadmaster Perseverer: what it is
For one, it’s the latest in their Roadmaster lineup, which offers a variety of looks and complications. For this new 40mm Ball Watch Roadmaster Perseverer, they’re going back to the 1970s, and capitalizing on a watch design trend that has been quite popular for the past few years: the integrated lug.
Things are a bit more angled on the case to get it down to the bracelet, which looks to be a variation of their standard H-link design, albeit stretched a bit wider to fit the overall aesthetic. On the dial, you’ll see a horizontal grain running on the dial, which adds some nice visual texture to things.
Wrapping things up
Many of the watches from Ball can feel a bit overwhelming for daily wear, particularly if you’re not climbing mountains or headed to the watery depths. The Ball Watch Roadmaster Perseverer, on the other hand, feels very well-suited to daily life, particularly with the cyclops magnifier over the date disc. The watch will be available in three dial colors (black, navy blue, ice blue) for $1,949 (inclusive of import duties), with availability planned for next month. ballwatch.ch
