Angelus announces a manufacture monopusher chrono collab with Massena LAB
That's a lot of words to say this is a beautiful watch.
Angelus has been on a quiet roll lately, and its latest collaboration with Massena LAB shows why collectors still revere the brand’s old-world precision. The new Angelus Chronographe Télémètre Massena LAB is a compact, gold-cased monopusher that channels the spirit of mid-century tool chronographs while delivering the refinement expected from a modern, in-house movement.
At 37 millimeters across and only 9.25 thick, this watch fits squarely within the golden-age proportions. The 18k yellow gold case has a slim bezel that pushes the eye toward the black, grained dial. The texture isn’t decorative—it cuts glare and deepens contrast against the polished, gold-plated numerals and indices. Two subdials sit cleanly at three and nine o’clock, one for running seconds, the other for a 30-minute counter. Under a box-shaped sapphire crystal, the dial feels balanced, dense, and deliberate.
Inside, Angelus uses its A5000 manual-wind movement, a single-pusher chronograph operated through the crown. It’s a thin caliber—just 4.2 millimeters thick—with a traditional 3 Hz balance. The finishing is what you expect from Angelus: beveled bridges in 3N gold, brushed steel levers, and palladium-coated chronograph components that glint under light. Every screw and wheel looks touched by a patient hand.
Review: The $29,000 Angelus Chronodate Titanium Silver
It’s rare that I get to see a watch so precisely engineered and so lovely. Angelus is a fairly small brand in the high-end horology world and their Chronodate line is a two-register panda-style chronograph with date arrow.
The watch’s restraint might be its greatest strength. No oversized case, no openwork dial, no gimmicks—just clean lines and craft. Massena LAB’s influence is clear in the color choice; the black dial, inspired by a vintage Angelus from William Massena’s own collection, is rare for the brand and gives the piece a quiet gravity.
No pricing, but Angelus tends to go high and stay high so be prepared to pay a pretty penny for this beauty.
