Last month, we brought you word of a new addition to the Tissot Visodate line – more precisely, a new bracelet to the lineup. From afar (and the one image that was available), I found myself rather liking the watch. Since then, we were able to spend some time with a sample, so today we are able to bring you a true review of the Tissot Visodate Milanais.
When I get watches in for review, I generally show them to my wife to get her take on the piece. Most of them she says are “ok” or might pick out some things that she does not really care for. With the Tissot Visodate Milanais, however, it was nothing but positive things. Much like myself, she was drawn to the clean styling and overall look. For her, personally, she felt it might be too big for dressy wear, but could make a great everyday watch.
Of course, on my own wrist, I thought it worked well for just about any situation you could think of. Will this case carries an official size of 40mm, it actually wears a touch smaller, as the case tapers in from the middle (where there is an angular crease) so you have a slender bezel when you look at the watch straight on.
One thing I do want to note on the case. In the previous writeup on the Tissot Visodate Milanais, the image in the article made it seem as if the crown tucked into the case. As you can see by our images here, however, this is not what actually occurs. Even when the crown is in the zero position, it appears to stand off a bit. While this is not a deal breaker, it is something to be aware of. I asked Tissot why this change had occurred, and they stated no actual design change had been made – it was just, basically, an incorrect rendering. Who knows, perhaps we will see this change some time in the future.
Coming in at a weight of 112g, this really was a pleasant watch to wear on a daily basis. The bracelet also helped in this comfort regard. This is because you can adjust it very easily to get your perfect fit. You simply release the receiver side of the latch, slide it to the right spot, and then lock it back down. No messing with links or micro adjustments.
Past that, the bracelet itself is a bit of a visual interest as well. The tight, polished links catch the light quite nicely, making for a very polished (no pun intended) look for the watch. Coming in at a price of $695, the Tissot Visodate Milanais is a good choice for an automatic (it is powered by an ETA 2836-2) that can handle dressier situations as well as daily wear – if the heritage look is something you gravitate towards. And of course, should you not care for this bracelet or dial color, there are other options in this family. tissot.ch
