It seems when it comes to Tissot, a lot of the focus for them has been in the PRX lineup. And why not – it’s been popular, the design hit at just the right time, and it’s worked well. But that’s not the only watch in their lineup, of course. Earlier in 2024, they reintroduced the Tissot PR516 (which first hit the streets in the 1960s), and now to start 2025, they’ve got some new models joining the lineup.

Tissot PR516: the three-hander

First up, we’ve got what is my personal favorite of the new models, the Tissot PR516 three-hander. This is powered by the Powermatic 80 automatic movement, which of course gives you that tasty 80-hour power reserve. This is wrapped in a case that definitely hits you with those vintage vibes, sort of splitting the difference between a monobloc case and a lugless case. What this means is you’ll be able to swap in your own strap down the road.

Another interesting thing that they’ve done here is to put a mineral glass crystal over the bezel that’s wrapped around the sapphire crystal. This gives things a flush and smooth overall look and feel, and should really help the watch slip under your shirt cuff easily. At 38mm, this should be very wearable. You’ve got three dial colors, and different strap and bracelet options.

Tissot PR516: the chronographs

Of course, just a three-hander isn’t enough, so why not put some chronographs in there as well? There’s a 40mm quartz chronograph, as well as a 41mm automatic, powered by the Valjoux A05. In terms of the overall aesthetic, these look much like the three-hander, albeit with some extra subdials and hands to accomodate the time tracking. You’ve got similar handsets and dial finishes, though the chronographs do come in different color schemes than the three-handers. These come just with a three-link bracelet, unlike the wider variety that the three-hand versions have out of the gate.

Wrapping things up

So, are you can see, there’s a lot going on within the Tissot PR516 collection. We’ve got three versions, each with their own color variations available. So, pricing gets a bit varied as well. The automatic three-hander will run you $650 on a strap, or $725 – $795 on the bracelet (depends on the finish). For the chronographs, you’re looking at $495 for the quartz version, or $1,850 for the automatic. Check out the full collection over at tissotwatches.com
