For as long as Timex has been around, I’m willing to wager that many of us have a favorite. Maybe it’s the watch our parents or grandparents always wore, or maybe it’s one that you just liked. I’m less about a specific watch (though I do have favorites), than a specific feature. If a Timex has Indiglo, I’m all about it. And this Timex 1995 Intrepid Reissue seems to check a lot of boxes.

Timex 1995 Intrepid Reissue: what it is
While I can’t say I remember the original, it seems to my eyes that the Timex 1995 Intrepid Reissue is a faithful recreation. You’ve got the basic dive watch aesthetic (complete with a black-on-white dial), complete with the crown offset to keep it from digging into your wrist. Interestingly, it’s a slide-rule bezel, and not a dive timer.
What really seals it – for me – as a watch from the 90s is the full-bore Indiglo marketing all over the watch. Both sides of the strap have it (so you’re reminded, as is everyone who sees it), as well as the bright green (and labelled) button over on the side to engage the Indiglo. There’s just something about that fully leaning into the branding that just feels right.
Wrapping things up
Coming in at just $199 (and available now), the Timex 1995 Intrepid Reissue has a lot going for it. If you just want a water-ready watch (and summer is just around the corner, so why not?) that is always going to have the right time? It’s hard to argue against it. The design itself feels almost retro, but in that good, kitschy sort of a way. You can get yours, and be ready for the summer lake party, right over at timex.com
