Perrelet is kicking off 2025 with a striking addition to its Turbine collection: the Turbine Urban Skeleton. This latest release introduces a fresh design perspective and a cutting-edge in-house skeleton caliber, showcasing the brand’s ability to blend technical mastery with contemporary aesthetics.
Marking a departure from the traditional round cases of the Turbine collection, the Urban Skeleton embraces a cushion-shaped case for the first time. The 42mm black PVD-coated stainless steel case features smooth, modern lines and an octagonal bezel with polished and brushed finishes, exuding a refined yet casual-chic appeal.
The case, water-resistant to 5 ATM, features a crown designed to complement the case’s new silhouette. Completing the design is a black calfskin strap with stitching that matches the vibrant indices, secured with a black PVD steel folding clasp.
Dial with a Difference
The dial of the Urban Skeleton breaks away from the conventions of its predecessors. For the first time, the rotating black anodized aluminum turbine reveals not a sub-dial but the mechanics of the new in-house skeleton caliber. This change is made possible by reducing the turbine blades from 12 to 10, offering a clearer view of the beautifully finished movement beneath.
Adding to the futuristic feel are the raised, luminescent hour markers, suspended toward the turbine to create a floating effect. Available in bold shades of electric blue, grass green, or red, these indices lend a vibrant, modern touch while distinguishing each model in the collection.
The Heart of the Watch: P-331-SQ Skeleton Caliber
At the core of the Turbine Urban Skeleton is the P-331-SQ automatic skeleton caliber, developed entirely in-house by SOPROD, Perrelet’s sister company. This COSC-certified movement is a testament to Swiss watchmaking excellence, featuring 78 components, a 4Hz beat rate (28,800 vibrations per hour), and a 42-hour power reserve.
The movement’s aesthetics are just as impressive as its performance. Its rhodium-plated mainplate and skeletonized bridges are adorned with circular-grained and sunray finishes, while the open-worked oscillating weight is decorated with Côtes de Genève motifs. Visible through a sapphire crystal case back, these intricate details ensure the watch appeals to even the most discerning collectors.
The Turbine Urban Skeleton extends Perrelet’s Turbine line in a bold new direction. The fusion of the brand’s hallmark rotating turbine with a skeletonized movement creates a unique visual and technical experience, offering a dynamic glimpse into the precision mechanics that power the watch.
