The new 2022 Aquastar Deepstar is a $2,790 watch with a long and interesting pedigree. Built by the folks who brought you the original Aquastar Chronograph, this new model features a large minutes register at 3 o’clock and two pushers to control the chrono movement.
It also has a super cute running seconds register at 9 o’clock which definitely hearkens back to a certain Mad Men aesthetic. The retail price will be $3,590 so they’re offering a considerable discount to pre-orders. The watch itself has a striking blue and silver design and runs a Swiss Chronograph movement – they describe it as a “high end Swiss Made Manufacture caliber, Mono-Compax Column Wheel mechanical Chronograph” – which isn’t saying much but it looks like a nice bit of kit. It’s a bit expensive for what it is but if you love the aesthetic it’s worth a look.
