Remember that dumb watch for dumb people? The creator, Dave Portnoy, stole most of the text from Omega’s website. Reporter Ashlee Vance found the goods:




I get it: you want to pay your copywriters as little as possible to get maximum SEO juice. But to literally steal from a major watch brand – Omega, no less – is dumber than you can imagine. You can see the original Omega content here.
Best of all? Someone else discovered that the $2,499 watch Portnoy is selling is allegedly worth $42. While this might be low-balling things a bit, the movement is worth about $150 and the cases aren’t much more so, like many watch brands, the price is far outstripping the value.
