I’ve made no secret of the fact that Sjöö Sandström is one of my favorite watch brands, with their Worldtimer probably among my most-worn watches (if not the most-worn). So, when they release a new watch (even just a new dial color), I’m going to take a peak. They just announced a new champagne dial color for the Sjöö Sandström Royal Steel Classic 41mm.
Sjöö Sandström Royal Steel Classic 41mm: what it is
We first wrote about the Sjöö Sandström Royal Steel Classic all the way back in 2017. And, like a classic, it’s much the same watch as it was then. In terms of the case profile, indices, and handset, those are all the same. You still have a Swiss automatic movement tucked inside, though now we’re seeing the power reserve hitting 50 hours.
So, what’s different?
Well, friend, it’s the dial of the Sjöö Sandström Royal Steel Classic 41mm. While the more-compact 32mm and 36mm designs of the Royal Steel Classic have had a champagne dial available, this is the first time we see it on the 41mm model. Paired with that you have the polished silver indices and handset, picking up the shine from the case and bracelet.
Wrapping things up
Pricing has remained pretty consistent in the Royal Steel Classic lineup as well. Even with the new dial, it comes in at 23,100 SEK on the alligator strap, or 26,700 SEK on the steel bracelet (approximately $2,120 / $2,450).
