While I’ve only more recently become aware of what Schwarz Etienne has been producing, I’ve thought of them as producing classic watches with bold colors and a variety of intricate patterns across their dials. What I was not expecting to see were ALL of those finishing techniques applied in a single sector dial. That’s exactly what happened with this mind trip of a dial that calls the Schwarz Etienne Geometry home.

As you can see, each quarter of the dial has a totally different set of finishing applied to it, and it is most definitely an eye-catching design. The fact that they were able to get these varied finishes – in different scales – done in the four different quadrants really highlights the skill that they’ve mastered.

Divided into quadrants, the dial is adorned with an array of finishes, including fluted lines, azuré, clous de Paris and fine sandblasted sections. Like a metaphor for life itself, the dial artistically depicts arcs and ridges shifting from one course to another, a scenario that can prove surprising and thrilling. This ‘deconstructed’ dial motif, comprised of various geometric forms, was masterminded by the acclaimed designer, Éric Giroud.

If the artistry wasn’t enough, the Geometry is powered by their ASE 200.02 micro-rotor automatic movement, which brings a very respectable 86-hour power reserve to the party. If you want to pick up one of the 200 of these they’re making (100 each in silver or salmon dial configurations), you’ll need $23,490 in the bank account before you head on over to schwarz-etienne.ch
