Rado is, as we know, a fan of using ceramic and color to set their watches apart. So, for summer, they released two new limited editions of the Captain Cook (red / yellow), and then the very bright one we’re talking about today – the Rado True Square Skeleton in yellow.

Rado True Square Skeleton: what it is

Here, the name isn’t hiding anything from you. It’s the Rado True Square, but done up to show off the movement inside. Here, it’s the R808 movement (which gives you an 80-hour power reserve), which has itself some skeletonization done. Really, though, it’s the dial that has the largest cuts done out of it, showing you that movement, as well as as the decorated plate that makes up the difference from the movement to the edge of the case.

The color

When I first saw the photos of this new yellow Rado True Square Skeleton, I immediately thought of mustard. I mean, that’s one of the all-time great summertime condiments, is it not? But, it could also be referring to the bright yellow ball up in the sky, or maybe even the dandelions that pop up in the lawn. So, whatever your reference is, it can speak to your summer.

The case of the Rado True Square Skeleton is done in ceramic, as we would expect. Rather than going with a ceramic bracelet, they instead have a color-matched rubber strap, with the clasp having a bit of ceramic showing up on it. We think the rubber strap makes a lot of sense for a summertime watch.
