Because, you know, it’s got you all in check. We’ve been fans of the Rado True Square (last reviewed here), and with all of the bold colors that they’ve introduced in their ceramics. They started with black and white (way back when), and now they’ve come up with a new limited-edition Rado True Square Limited Edition that combines them both.

Rado True Square Limited Edition: what it is

The watch started as their open-heart, skeletonized version (which we wrote about here), and then they got funky with the colors. For the dial, the quadrants alternate between silver and black. In the black quadrants, you have white diamonds as indices, and then the silver quadrants have black diamonds.

This is all then set into either a white or black ceramic case, with a color matched bracelet. On that bracelet, you then have alternating color links in there. So, no matter what you choose, it’s a black and white watch. You just need to determine which color you want to be primary.

The rest of the specs

The Rado True Square Limited Edition houses the caliber R734 movement, which is automatic and offers up an 80-hour power reserve (for those rare occasions where it’s not on your wrist). Sapphire crystals are up front and around back, and the back of the case is made of sandblasted titanium (it’s there where you’ll see what number out of 888 your watch is).

Wrapping things up

If you want to get your own Rado True Square Limited Edition (aka the “Checkmate”), each colorway is only being made in 888 pieces. Regardless of which color you chose, this LE is going to command $3,150. There are also plenty of other versions at lower price points; you can check out the full range over at rado.com
