Back in 2019 (you know, the “before times”) Perrelet introduced their Weekend collection. Nary a turbine to be seen, they’ve instead come up with dressier looks in slimmed-down cases that give a watch that’s ready to unwind. While there is a trio in the collection (including a three-hander and an open-heart dial), we’re of course enamored by the Perrelet Weekend Ice Blue GMT.

While the ice blue dials of this latest addition to the collection will catch the eye, we’re actually going to say that the cases are the star of the show. Why’s that? Well, here’s how the brand puts it:
The timepieces in the “Weekend Ice Blue” line come in a stainless steel case. 39 mm in diameter and only 9.56 mm in thickness, this case fits perfectly on even the smallest wrists. The well-balanced proportions, the slim bezel, the elongated lugs with their bevelled edges, and the fluted crown define the sophisticated and meticulously crafted aesthetics. The polished-satin finishes create unique interplays of light on the various surfaces.

In other words – those case proportions are just about perfection. Sure, we wouldn’t have minded seeing a 100m WR rating show up, but 50m just means no swimming with the watch. That you can get that compact size and still get a second time zone tracked (we’re guessing it’s a caller style)? Well, there’s nothing wrong with that.
