Welcome back (or just welcome if this is your first time here) to our weekly installment, Watching the Web, where we point out interesting watches and articles that have popped up over the last week (or so), and we take a second look at our more popular posts over the same span. Today, I am going to highlight the Urwerk UR-105 TA from A Blog to Watch, Hodinkee’s look at the NOMOS Lambda, and a Kickstarter campaign for hand made watch boxes. From our site, we have an exclusive review of the Filson Journeyman GMT, a look at the Swatch Sistem 51 update, and for the 3rd week in a row, the Ventus Caspian on Kickstarter.

Exclusive Review: The Filson Journeyman GMT

Patrick Kansa By Patrick Kansa

We first brought you word of the new Filson (by Shinola) watches in February. While they are, at their heart, Shinola watches, they have a different look and feel to them that switching to the Filson name allows (sort of how auto manufacturers go for different styles on the same basic platform across brands). My preferences being what they are, I found myself drawn to the GMT models being released, along with their tincloth straps. To the best of my knowledge, we are the first site able to bring you a hands-on review of the Filson Journeyman GMT

Welcome to the Valentine’s Day edition of Watching the Web. If you are reading this and forgot to get your significant other something, go ahead and bookmark the page and come back later and go get something. Something preferably watch related. And with that Public Service Announcement out of the way, we will dive into our regular feature, pointing you toward interesting watch related articles from across the internet and popular posts from our own pages. Today, we have two articles from Watch Time, one on the top women’s watches from a few years back and the other a selection of watches worn by US Presidents (just in time for President’s Day); as well as an article from A Blog To Watch with ways to keep feed your love of watches without blowing your budget. From our own site, we have articles featuring new watches by Shinola for Filson and an older article on Seiko movements.

Welcome to the final day of January, and our Saturday feature, Watching the Web. This is where we take the opportunity to highlight watch related articles on other sites that we find interesting, as well as point you back to some of our more popular posts from the last week or so. Starting with the other suites, A Blog To Watch highlights their Top 10 watches of SIHH and Hodinkey has a story that would be perfect for the Antiques Roadshow. On our own pages, the Christopher Ward Trident Update continues to be a popular post, but I will point you toward my recent crowdfunding write up and an older review of Patrick’s, one for the Shinola Runwell Contrast Chrono.

Welcome to the mid point of January, and our third installment of Watching the Web for 2015, where we here at WWR point out watch related articles across the interwebs that we find interesting, as well as highlighting a couple of our more popular posts over the last week. Looking at other sites, A Blog to Watch had a nice write-up of Arnold & Sons Golden Wheel watch and Worn&Wound reviewed a favorite of mine, the Nomos Metro. Looking back at our own pages, we have Patrick’s review of the Shinola Black Blizzard and my take on the H2O Helberg CH5.

Happy New Year everyone. I hope we all survived the holidays healthy, happy, and financially intact. This is the first Watching the Web post of 2015, where we here at WWR point you to interesting watch related articles at other sites, as well as highlight our more popular posts over the last week. Looking around the web, I liked the Worn&Wound review of a watch for the vision impaired, and am fascinated by the complication in the Quill&Pad write up of the Maurice Lacroix Square Wheel Cube. Looking back at our own pages, we have the Tissot T-Touch Expert Solar and the Butler Professional Series GMT, as well as a list of the 5 most popular articles we posted in 2014 .
