By this point, you should be aware that Oris is a supporter of reef restoration efforts. If you’re not, here’s the other times we wrote about it. This is often accomplished with limited-edition releases, and that means there’s a brand new Aquis Date version. Time to get familiar with the Oris Aquis Great Barrier Reef IV.

Aquis Great Barrier Reef: what it is

Well, at it’s core, it’s the 43.5mm Oris Aquis Date, so you can refer to this article for a deeper dive on the watch. The major things to note are the Calibre 400 movement that nets you a 120 (yes, one hundred and twenty) hour power reserve, and a 300m WR rating to keep that movement dry and protected.

What’s different about this version

The most obvious difference for the Aquis Great Barrier Reef IV is going to be the dial. This is a gradient, lighter blue at the top, darker at the bottom. To us, this is evoking how water just naturally gets darker the deeper you go. On the reverse, you’re going to have a special engraved caseback, reminding you of what you helped support.
