The crew over at Nomadic had been making a number of really interesting designs
(and we’ve got another loaner in for review at the moment, so be on the watch for that one). What that’ve not had so far has been a GMT movement in the lineup. That changes with the Nomadic Fior 555, which was just announced.

Nomadic Fior 555: what it is

To put it simply – it’s the latest GMT watch that’s captured my fancy. Now, to get the critical thing out of the way – with the Sellita SW330-2 movement inside, the Nomadic Fior 555 is a “caller” GMT, which means that you’re quick-setting the GMT hand, not the hour hand. If you’re traveling a lot, that is less than ideal. However, if you’re like me and mostly staying local, it’s perfectly workable.

The hard specs

Dimensions on the Nomadic Fior 555 look to be hitting the sweet spot. At a 41mm diameter, it’s large enough to keep wrist presence and legibility, but not so big it overwhelms. They’ve also kept it to 12.5mm thick, which means it should slip under a cuff easily.

The domed sapphire crystal is surrounded by a bi-directional bezel, which is two-toned to match the dial color. Interestingly, while that bezel looks like a flat aluminum insert, it’s actually a ceramic insert, complete with lumed numerals. So, you’ve got that older look and feel with a modern material.

Wrapping things up

There are five versions of the Nomadic Fior 555 being made available. The first four are variants of dial and bezel color, all on a 20mm bracelet that has polished center links. That version will command £1595. They will also have a Prestige version of the watch that brings gold tones to the party on the bezel, dial, and center links of the bracelet. If that’s the path you’re headed, it’ll be £2095. You can check out all the details, and order your own, over at nomadicwatches.com
