Imagine a watch that reminds you that time is fake and that hours are a social construct. Imagine no more: Mr. Jones’ Berry Late is here to bring a little philosophy to your wrist.
The piece, which is currently sold out, was created for Mr. Jones by artist Ana Dias. Dias uses cut little strawberries to show the hours and minutes and every hour the jumbled letters come together to spell, well, check it out:
“The watch combines my love of writing and playing with words, coupled with a sense of irony and the absurd. The face draws us in with a combination of bright colours and childlike lettering, which seduce us with their sweetness,” said Ana. “At the same time, it pushes back against this saccharine world with the violence of the language and the absurdity of the message. It’s an angel with a dirty face, it’s pastel punk.”
It’s a surprisingly clever little watch and, as you can see below, works great for men and women who are tired of accepting their grinding sameness of their days.
