LIV watches is now on their third Kickstarter campaign and already breaking records. LIV Watches newest model, the Rebel, has taken in $450,ooo in the first 48 hours. As of March 20th they are already at $1,105,116 with 9 more days to go. How are they able to get so much support in such little time? Lets look a little more at this new model and find out.

One thing that stands out right away is that this watch is unique: it’s not round and features an innovative, stadium-design face. Covering the dial is an eight sided sapphire crystal. The LIV Rebel is being offered in four versions– an automatic chronograph, quartz chronograph, a three hand automatic, and a quartz GMT.  All models are in the same unique case.

From what I have seen in pictures, this watch shows a lot of different elements being used to enhance the look on the dial. LIV watches uses a sandwich dial with a guilloche look that adds a really nice touch to the dial. There is a lot of dimension on the dial that would make it very enjoyable to look at. Night viewing must also be pretty interesting from what I see.

There are so many Kickstarters out there, but the vast majority are not Swiss made. LIV Watches are all Swiss made and are offered at an pretty reasonable price point (under 800 USD) for a Limited Edition Swiss Made Automatic Chronograph with Sapphire crystal front and back. This appeals to a lot of watch lovers and that would explain their large amount of backers. On their last Kickstarter, LIV watches took in over 1.1 million and it looks like they have done it again.

As mentioned above, LIV Watches is offering four versions of the Rebel. The LIV Rebel Automatic Chronograph with a Swiss Sellita SW500 movement will be offered at $770 to $790. The LIV Rebel Quartz Chronograph with a Swiss Rhonda Z60 movement will be offered at $370 to $390. The LIV Rebel  Three Hand Automatic with a Swiss Sellita SW200-1 movement will be offered at $440 to $460. The LIV Rebel GMT Dual Time with a Swiss Rhonda Powertech Cal.515.24H movement is offered at $259. These are some pretty good prices especially for Swiss made automatics, and with the unique case design and nice visual elements on the dial, I can see why they have been able to attract so many backers. You can check them all out on Kickstarter.
