You know Undone, right? We’ve covered a number of their watches (most recently, we reviewed the Arabian Nights and covered their latest Simple Union collaboration), but that loses sight of the fact that they started out as a company that allowed you to customize most aspects of your watch, and then have it built. So, who better to collaborate with than someone who customizes sneakers, resulting in the UNDONE X STAPLE collection.
The “staple” in this collaboration? That would be the one and only jeffstaple, who’s creativity has had him collaborating with a vast number of brands. This time, it’s Undone getting the attention, and the carrier of his Staple Pigeon. Here, of course, it shows up quite literally on the dial, but mixed up a bit, twisting the classic yin-yang layout into some pigeon heads.
What starts off looking monochromatic with the UNDONE X STAPLE gives way to some color, with pigeon pink (like the legs of a pigeon) filling the handset, the UNDONE logo, and the contrast stitching on the leather strap version. More color shows up when the lights drop, with the handsets glowing green and the white portions of the dial glowing blue.
Flip the UNDONE X STAPLE over, and you’ll see the NH35A movement through a pigeon pink hued exhibition window, so yet another splash of color, but just for the owners eyes. Turning our attention back to the front, you’d think the 40mm UNDONE X STAPLE is a bit of a dive watch (and with 100m WR, it could be). With the handset and the bezelk, it certainly carries the look. A closer look at the bezel shows more changes that make the watch more for streetwear. In that, you’ve got the words “A Positive Social Contagion” (I’d much prefer that for this year, please), and highlights of the numerals 75 (when jeffstaple entered the world) and 97 (when the brand started).

There are three versions – the limited-edition of 300 pieces comes on a steel bracelet and goes for $649, while the versions on a leather or NATO strap go for $519.
