H.Moser & Cie has launched a dual-time watch that looks like something between an aviators watch and classic Breguet. Called the Heritage Dual Time, the piece costs a spicy $21,900.
The piece has huge, lumed numerals and some handsome hands. Interestingly the second time zone hand can be hidden behind the hour hand which allows you to stow it away when you’re not traveling. That said, if you paid $21K for this you can probably jus have your butler shout the time at you down the aisles of your private jet. Your call.
From the release:
Boasting a bold steel look, the Heritage Dual Time is a beautifully rounded model with classic touches, inspired by Moser pocket watches and the early 20th-century models on show in the Moser museum in Schaffhausen. Its steel case features tapered lugs and a large notched crown. This resolutely classic model is reinvigorated with a brand-new Burgundy fumé dial, which also features the brand logo in transparent lacquer, like a secret signature. The traditional-style railway minute track appears in white to give a very modern contrasting result, while the sword-shaped hands are coated with Super-LumiNova®. The distinctive three-dimensional appliqué numerals use Globolight®, an innovative ceramic-based material that can assume any shape and any colour, and contains Super-LumiNova®. This watch is built for adventure, as evidenced by the raw finish of its grey kudu leather strap.
At the heart of the Heritage Dual Time model beats the new HMC 809 self-winding calibre. This movement is equipped with the Dual Time function, thanks to the module developed entirely by H. Moser & Cie. on its self-winding Manufacture calibre. The grey hand indicates the dual time zone and can be hidden behind the main hours hand when not in use, in line with the brand’s constant pursuit of minimalism. The date is displayed in a well-proportioned window at 6 o’clock. It is connected to the dual time zone, for practical purposes. Powering this HMC 809 calibre with a three-day power reserve, the oscillating weight transfers the energy to the barrel via a bi-directional pawl winding system which reduces the time required to fully wind the watch.
All snark aside, this thing looks amazing. It’s beautifully designed and the whole package works amazingly well, even with that bright rose face.
