While we’ve not had them on our pages here for a bit, we’ve not stopped keeping an eye on what the crew over at Borealis are working up. Their latest, the Borealis Sea Storm MK2 GMT, has a lot going on for it that you’ll want to have a look at.
As you might suspect, the Borealis Sea Storm MK2 GMT relies on the new Seiko GMT movement, the NH34. We’re happy to see this movement showing up more and more places, and giving us fans of GMT complications (even if it’s for tracking server time) an affordable option.
Along with the movement, the Borealis Sea Storm MK2 GMT is available in a variety of bezel colors (five, to be precise) and two different dial colors. Most of the watches have a black dial, while the black/white bezel comes with a full-lume white dial. Oh, and it should be noted, these are coming in both date and no-date configurations. In other words, something for everyone.
We first became familiar with Borealis as a dive watch company, and the Borealis Sea Storm MK2 GMT can certainly still fit that bill. Sure, the bezel isn’t going to be timing a dive (even with that Fifty Fathoms diamond at the top of the sapphire insert), the 300m WR rating will let you take a dip.
If you’re wanting to get in on the pre-order, the Borealis Sea Storm MK2 GMT is going for just $399 on the bracelet, which seems like a very solid pricepoint for this movement and the colorful design. Check it all out over at borealiswatch.com
