I have done quite a few Aquatico watch reviews which you can see here. As of yet I have not been disappointed. This new Aquatico Sea Star V2 just came in the mail and it was green, Vintage green. At first I wasn’t sure about the color but it quickly grew on me. The more time I spent with it the more I liked it. Read on and see how you feel.
The dial on the Aquatico Sea Star is clean and simple, as a dive watch should be. This is a simple three-hander with no date. The hour and minute blade hands are large enough to be easily seen during any dive condition. The face and bezel are done in a really cool looking vintage green. In the light, the green really pops, but when things get darker the color goes more to a grey. Protecting all of this is an inner AR-coated sapphire crystal.
This watch is built from solid 316L stainless steel with a brushed finish. For measurements, it comes in at 42mm in diameter, 50mm lug to lug, and 14.5mm thick. The 120 click bezel has a ceramic insert which can take a good amount of abuse without scratching. The coin edging on the bezel gives just the right amount of grip. Movement of the bezel is tight, but not too tight where it would be an issue under water. Water resistance is a respectable 300m or approx 1000ft. For sure you can take this down on just about any recreational dive.
The stainless steel bracelet on the Aquatico Sea Star is done in the same brushed finish as the case. The bracelet is well made and has a very durable feel to it. This watch doesn’t just come with the bracelet, it also comes with a very nice Nato strap. Using the same vintage green, the Nato strap looks perfect on this watch. Not sure which one I like more. It’s nice having choices.
To keep with the whole green theme, the lume us also done using vinatage green. This provides a great green glow that last for quite a long time. As you can see there is a lot of lume used in the watch and it looks great.
All of the Aquatico watches I have reviewed have proven to be a great deal for the money. This watch doesn’t just look great on the wrist, it’s also more than capable of doing its job as a real dive watch. This watch is selling for $299 USD which is not bad for a watch with a Seiko NH35 automatic movement, ceramic bezel, and 300m in water resistance.
