By now, you should all be familiar with G-SHOCK (and if you’re not, here’s our prior articles on the brand). They make tough watches that are ready to take on anything, and a number of them pack in some interesting technology. To mark the arrival of the Year of the Snake, they’re releasing the G-SHOCK G-STEEL GSTB400CX-1A.
G-SHOCK G-STEEL GSTB400CX-1A: what is is
The GST-B400 line is the one of the slimmer G-SHOCKs, coming in at 12.9mm thick. It also offers up solar charging (always appreciated, and doesn’t necessarily require the sun), a bluetooth connection to your phone to set it, and all sorts of other goodies (see below).
The Year of the Snake Touches
On the G-SHOCK G-STEEL GSTB400CX-1A, you’ll find snakeskin patterns on the buttons, as well as across the dial and on the included strap. Turn the watch over, and you’ll find an ouroboros eating it’s own tail on the caseback.
Wrapping things up
Normally, we wouldn’t consider a G-SHOCK as a dress watch, but we suppose you could try getting away with it with the G-SHOCK G-STEEL GSTB400CX-1A. The black, gold, and silver touches will get you a lot of the way there, as well as it being a thinner case. If you want one for your end-of-year partieies, you can get yours (or one of the other versions of the GSTB400 line) for $380 directly from casio.com
