We will admit – it’s been quite some time since we’ve had Eberhard on our pages. Well, now it’s time to talk about a model that’s been around for almost 30 years. Back in 1996, the idea of producing a 43mm case must have seemed a bit absurd. Now, 43 seems right in line, but then, it would have been more unique. Now, almost 30 years down the road, there’s a new version of the Eberhard & Co Traversetolo with a stunning blue dial.
Traversetolo: what is it?
Regardless of dial color, the Eberhard & Co Traversetolo is a clean – and somewhat oversized – approach of your classic three-hander. Of course, instead of the central seconds, you’ve got running seconds down at 6 o’clock in a subdial. This is a classic look, made Eberhard’s own with the font choice done up large on the dial itself.
The movement
If you were looking through the spec sheet, you’ll notice that the watch is quite thin for the diameter, coming in at just 10.7mm. To pull off that trick, they went a quite simple route: they’re using a manually-wound movement. Depending on the reference you opt for, you can see that movement through a sapphire exhibition caseback, or have it completely enclosed by a solid caseback.
Wrapping things up
It’s a rather clean look, and should be great for the office, out on town in a suit, or even around the house on the weekend.
