It’s not every day you see a tulip bulb crown on an automatic watch but the VVCO…
If you’ve never thought about the beauty of coffee maker this is the time. The folks at…
We have reviewed all manner of straps over the past few years, mostly focusing in on what is available in terms of custom leather options, and affordable (but still higher-end) two-piece straps. It’s not that we do not like NATO straps. That’s not the case at all, as we have certainly reviewed some in the past. It is just that there is such a wide variety of inexpensive ones out there, that we really do not need to cover them. When you can pick them up for under $10 apiece from your favorite outlet, do you really need a review? On the flip side, there are ones out there making something quite different, like Suigeneric, or the brand behind today’s review, Vario.
Somewhere along the way, I became rather drawn to interestng case shapes. Then again, that should not be all that surprising. There is plenty to like about a well-executed, classic case design, as production (and sales) numbers will attest. With the flood of watches from new brands though, how best to stand out? Prior to today’s example, the best one I can point to, in terms of standing out with a new case, was Visitor Watch Co. Well, there’s a new (patented) case out in the world, in the form of the Virata VRT1 series.
Welcome to the era of Kickstarter watches. With the success of Daniel Wellington and MVMT it’s become…
When it comes to watches, I am generally able to figure out how to read the time on the watch, as well as grasping at least the basics of how it is things are being indicated on the dial. With a simple three-hander, there’s not much to decipher, as it’s rather familiar. You can get into some esoteric designs and displays though, and then it gets a bit trickier. I will admit, when I first saw the images of the Drawing 17 from Projects Watches, I finally had to ask the brand to enlighten me as to how it was working.
Jake Schmidt is a paracord lover. He’s a nature lover, a luxury house lover, and a paracord lover. Jake’s long-term goal is to build a community of paracord lovers to show off their different weaves, tutorials, and more.
Imagine the classic shot of an old world map, with a DC-3 propeller plane and a dashed line trailing behind it showing the journey. If I were making a promotion video of this watch, I would totally use that shot with the line going from Singapore to Switzerland, with a fade to the Jubileon Superellipse watch on the wrist of a gentleman holding a glass of scotch while traveling first-class.
It was three years ago that I went hands-on with the original Smith & Bradley Sans-13. Since then, I have reviewed every other watch that the brand has put out, which you can see here and here. While we are still working to get one of their latest in – the Smith & Bradley Sans-13 Evolution – I wanted to get a preview in place for you, as their Kickstarter project just recently launched. So, let’s have ourselves a look, shall we?
Wow. If you are really into vintage-inspired watches, this is the time for you. Specifically, if you are in the original MilSubs (you know, just like that famous Rolex Submariner and the like), then this really is the time for you. Janis Trading recently made a huge splash with their NTH Subs (full review forthcoming), and now Hager comes along with their interpretation of things, with the Hager Aquamariner.
