The other week, we brought you word about some very racing-inspired chronographs, replete with some rather colorful…
It’s a brand new month, and that means one thing here at WWR – it is time for a new giveaway! This month, we have teamed up with Torgoen to give away one of their very well-built (and affordable) watches. I rather like GMT complications, so we have na opportunity for you to win a Torgoen T5 GMT.
Patrick and I have been able to conduct hands-on reviews for a pair of of CT Scuderia watches out of the four reviews we have posted here on the site, and we both are on board with the brand’s signature bullhead design. Probably the one knock is that they are priced into the “aspirational range,” at least for my pocket book. Well, for the next couple of days, there is a sale on CT Scuderia Watches on Touch of Modern, a members only sale-of-the-moment site we point you toward from time to time.
It doesn’t seem all that long ago that we were bringing you word of a new collaboration between Shinola and Filson (link). With some of the watches coming out of that collaboration, we saw new functionality that the Argonite movements had not previously offered (specifically, a GMT complication). Shinola was not about to let those go unused in their own lines, and at BaselWorld, they introduced, formally, two new Argonite movements.
When it comes to the world of smart watches, one of the big complaints I have heard (and read about) is that they simply are not designed to be appealing to those who appreciate watches. Many of them are gadgets first, and just happen to be able to be strapped to your wrist. That argument is losing a lot of steam now, especially with the announcement of the Frederique Constant Horological Smartwatch.
We are no stranger to Mr Jones on these pages, as a their designs have pop up from time to time. As of late, they seem to have been getting more into collaborations with other brands. One of their latest, with custom bike shop Untitled Motorcycles, really sort of grabbed my attention. Read on to see what the Mr Jones motochrono is all about.
Christopher Ward has made a lot of watches with ties to motor sports, and to legendary cars. Their latest release deepens this connection, with 4 watches commemorating the tradition of Grand Prix racing in Europe. The Christopher Ward C70 GP Chronometer is a COSC certified chronograph offered in four flavors, honoring British, French, Belgian and Italian race tracks.
Touch of Modern (join here is you are not already a member), is a limited time, members only sales site that features lots of guy-centric goods. For our audience, it is the watches that really matter, and the site does feature a lot of watch sales. Today, they’ve got a flash sale (24-hour pricing) on the series of Eone Bradley Watches
Over the years, we here at WWR have developed relationships with quite a number of different brands, ranging from the newest indie’s to some of the bigger, more established names in the industry. One of the newer relationships we’ve developed is with Projects Watches. Along with the obvious affordability the brand offers, they have a unique sense of design, often pushed along by bringing in designers who are not traditional watch designers, resulting in some unique ideas. The latest of these is the Projects Watches “On the Right Track”.
Back in December, we brought you word of the latest offering from Tempest, the Tempest Carbon. In that writeup, I lamented the fact that our friends over at aBlogtoWatch were able to spend some time with the prototype. Well, supporting the saying that “good things come to those who wait”, we actually got to spend some time with the prototype ourselves. So, what is it like having the Tempest Carbon on the wrist
