As you saw the other week, a crowd-funded project caught John’s eye. He wrote up the Manchester Watch Works Morgan, while (unbeknownst to him) a prototype of one of those very watches was winging its way my direction. I have spent a little bit of time with the watch, and now it’s time to give you my impressions of the watch.
Have you ever sat down on a park bench, drinking in the afternoon sun, and thought “The…
As you might imagine, we get all manner of emails coming in here at WWR telling us about new watches. While this is an invaluable stream of information, it sometimes can have a frustrating signal-to-noise ratio. Fortunately, most of those messages contain an image or two of the watch that is being introduced, and this lets us easily hone in on what is of interest to us and our readers. Even though I did not know anything about the specifications (or even the pricing) of the Alvieri Firenze, when I saw the images, I was fairly certain this would be a watch we would cover.
Curved is the new blackout dial. Now that fashion and the nerd world has fallen in love…
If you are the sort who likes to obsess about the details of your watch, a recent Kickstarter launch is likely going to be of interest to you. We have seen plenty of projects that offer you some choices when it comes to things like dial colors or case finishes, but this is the first time that I have seen a project go with a fully customizable watch as the reward. Let’s have a look at what Revolo is offering in exchange for your contribution.
It can be quite a treat to see a brand come along and then start to explore new avenues of design. One such of those brands would be Rossling & Co. We became aware of them early on in their kickstarted existence, and just recently they started up a new project, with a design that takes their previous design in a new direction. So, what does the new Rossling & Co Metropolitan collection have in store for you?
When you think about watches and shapes, a circle is probably the most common one you think of. Sure, you have your tonneau cases and the like, but by and large, our watches are circular in nature. Now, the just launched Meridiem Watches PM20 does indeed feature a round case – but it also plays around a lot with hexagons, and offers a unique material for their dials.
Just when you think you have seen just about all there is to see with Kickstarter watches,…
I must really have a thing for trench watch-inspired watches, as another Kickstarter project just crossed my desk, and I rather liked what I saw. Then again, going with what seems to be a popular style (vintage military in a modern design) is a solid way to go, especially for a brand just starting out. With that in mind, let’s see what the McDowell Time Delray has on offer.
Today, we have a quick preview of a watch that just recently hit Kickstarter, the McDowell Time DelRay. Why a preview? Well, as it turns out, I also have one of the prototypes here on the watch review desk, so we will be able to give you a hands-on impression here very soon. In the meantime, let’s run down what the McDowell Time DelRay is offering.
