By now, you should know I’ve got a bit of a thing for the designs from Ball Watch. I’ve become particularly enamored by the wide tubes they use on the Engineer III line, and also really like the looks of when they use the assortment of tubes they call the “rainbow”. So, of course, the Ball Engineer III Marvelight Chronometer Meteorite checked off all the right boxes for me.

Ball Engineer III Marvelight Chronometer Meteorite: what it is

Frankly, it’s very much the same watch we saw in the Engineer III that honored Jim Thorpe (you can read about that here). It even has the same chronometer-spec movement that the larger versions of the Bright Path had. The major change here is the dial. Rather than using a semi-precious stone, it relies a truly far out there material – a slice of meteorite. Pair that with the rainbow-hued tritium tube selection, and well, it’s not a far leap (for me, at least) to this Dio song:

Wrapping things up

Of course, the Ball Engineer III Marvelight Chronometer Meteorite also offers the robust protections (anti-magnetism, anti-shock, water resistant) that Ball is known for, and comes on the rather nice 3-link bracelet. You can get the watch for $2,749, with either the rainbow tubes (our favorite) or the more restrained yellow and green combination. ballwatch.ch
