The Casio G-SHOCK Baby-G lineup has been making designs for smaller wrists, and they’ve done it with a lot of fun colors and flash. Just recently, though, they launched a collaboration we definitely were not expecting. Meet the BABY-G x Powerpuff.
BABY-G x Powerpuff: the watch itself
To be precise, the BABY-G x Powerpuff is actually part of the BABY-G+PLUS line. What does that mean? From what we can tell, it’s the inclusion of that second case. You can disconnect the watch from the strap and then popping it into the case, allowing the watch to be treated more as a charm, than a wristwatch.
The Powerpuff ties
There are a number of different cues from the cartoon that debuted 25 years ago. Here’s how Casio details them for the BABY-G x Powerpuff:
The watch band features the official Powerpuff Girls logo alongside portraits of the three heroes and their signature colors. Remove the pass-through band to see playful art of the Girls, ready to save the day. The LCD, edged in an adorable pink, features the show’s distinctive heart symbol, and the case back is engraved with a shot of the superheroes in action.
The special strapped holder’s smooth pink silicone is a nod to the bubblegum so often seen in The Powerpuff Girls. Use the original stickers that come with the set to decorate the holder for a cute but tough look that’s all your own.
Wrapping things up
For fans of the show, the BABY-G x Powerpuff should be a very welcome collaboration. It’s a capable watch (see the full list of specs below), and available now for $139. If you like the concept of the wristwatch/charm flexibility, but aren’t into the Powerpuff Girls, they’ve got four other versions of this watch for $79.
