Here at WWR, we tend to focus on watches that we like and wear – which means they’re predominately watches that guys wear. Many of the ones from Armitron we’ve reviewed have fit that mold (with one notable exception). Well, today we’re back with one that my daughter was quite happy to be able to help review: the Armitron Pulse.

Armitron Pulse: what it is
The Armitron Pulse is the sort of watch that I think is a perfect starter watch for a kid, or even for someone with smaller wrists who just wants something basic to get them through the day.
The 36mm case is going to fit a wide variety of wrists, and the silicone band and plastic case keeps things nice and light on the wrist. The 50m WR rating means you don’t have to worry about it getting splashed, and the basic functionality (time, date, stopwatch, alarm, backlight) is going to be perfect for a younger user. No, it doesn’t track your steps or heart rate, and it doesn’t connect to your phone. But not everyone needs that, and this watch demonstrates that point well.
What my guest tester had to say about the watch
Given the color scheme and smaller case size, I knew that I would have a willing helper to test this watch out. Since it’s come in, it’s barely left her wrist. After spending time with it, here’s what she had to say:
If you want a durable waterproof watch this is a great choice for you! The color is nice and very versatile. I think this is a good watch for both boys and girls, of all ages. It can be put into military time.
Something that I like about this watch is how easy it is to set a stopwatch, and something that I might change is make it easier to set an alarm (I am not sure if that’s possible) because I have not even figured out how to do that. Something else that I like about this watch is the color this light purple goes with pretty much any color and/or occasion.
As you can tell, she quite liked it. And I guess some of what I’ve said about watches must be rubbing off on her, as she even snuck in a suggestion for an improvement in her writeup.
Wrapping things up
It’s worth noting, the Armitron Pulse is not just available in the lavender/blush color combo that we got in for review; you can also opt for it to be in white or black, with the strap color-matched to the case. Regardless of color, the MSRP on the watch is $45, though at the moment it’s marked down to $34. Check it out, and order yours, directly at armitron.com
