A Noble Crowdfunding Effort

I know it is Spring for everyone else, but I live in Southern California, and it is pretty nice year round, so I don’t really get the winter blues (but I did love seeing Patrick’s weather troubles over in Chicago).  So with great weather around, my mind automatically turns to hockey, with the LA Kings playing the Anaheim Ducks in the Stanley Cup Playoffs.  No matter who wins, So. Cal. is headed to the next round.  So when I saw the Noble Watch project, the Pursuit, on Kickstarter, my immediate association was ‘hockey puck.’

The watch is quartz, but the company did go with a Ronda 3 hand movement, so you do get a little Swiss cache with the project.  Along with the nice movement, you also get a sapphire crystal and the strap is a generous 24mm, which should go well with the 45mm stainless case.  It is not a huge watch for guys, but this should wear as a very large watch on a woman’s wrist, which is appealing to a lot of buyers.  The branding on the dial, is a bit much for such a simple design (a smaller, or even absent logo would be my preference), but the rest of the look is clean.  I also like the engraving of the model name “The Pursuit,” on the side of the case in script.

The watches are limited to 100 pieces in each color combination, gold and white, steel and white, and PVD and grey.  I like the use of red in the steel and blue on the PVD models to add a little visual contrast, but the black on the gold comes off a little standard.  I like the watch, though I don’t think it is going to find it’s way into my collection.  A few hours into the project they stand at 10% of their funding goal of $20,000.  If you like the clean lines, and if you want a large-ish watch that should actually look huge (with the minimal bezel) but wear comfortably (with the hidden lugs), check it out.  nobletimepieces/noble-timepieces-the-pursuit
