Introducing the Christopher Ward C65 Chronograph

As of late, Christopher Ward seems to have been giving a LOT of love and attention to their C65 lineup. I’ve found a lot to like with the line (particularly this one), and for fans of vintage-look chronographs, the Christopher Ward C65 Chronograph is now here.

The Christopher Ward C65 Chronograph uses the same movement that the C60 chronograph uses (a Sellita SW510 automatic), so the brand will be familiar with working with the movement. In many ways, the overall look of the watch fits in with the rest of the vintage C65 line, with the stick handset, indices, and even the bezel insert. Where it differs, of course, are the two registers.

Over at 9 o’clock, you’ve got the running seconds (the central seconds is for the chronograph), while the 3 o’clock register is giving you a 30-minute chronograph register. You get a bit of that 60s/70s splash of color in that register as well, calling to mind the regatta timers of the days gone by.

Christopher Ward is obviously quite pleased with this release. They commissioned some art (above) from the duo Craig & Karl. Now that is trippy – and I am so pleased to read that they’re thinking about making a limited edition that matches that super-colorful design.

For now, however, you’ve got the more restrained look to the Christopher Ward C65 Chronograph. It’s available now at £1,695 on a leather or tropic rubber strap, or £1,800 (for us Yanks, the pricing starts at $1,935) for the stainless steel bracelet.
